Leeds United injury list in full as key men ruled out of Manchester United friendly

Leeds United are coming to the end of what has been a productive first week of pre-season training. The Whites have their new manager secured and preparations are well and truly underway as the club prepares itself for a return to the Championship.

United have plenty of work to do before they’ll be considered ready for their opener against Cardiff City and they have three friendlies announced in order to prepare themselves for the real thing on August 6. The first of those pre-season outings comes next Wednesday with Leeds set to face Manchester United in Oslo.

Daniel Farke will be keen to see as many players in action as he can for that one, but there will be some faces left at home due to injury. Here, Leeds Live gives a rundown of the current injuries within the squad.

Tyler Adams – hamstring

Adams was sorely missed over the final two and a half months of Leeds’ Premier League campaign after being ruled out with a hamstring problem. The issue occurred in training and Leeds won two games in his absence as they slipped towards the bottom three and out of the top flight.

It remains to be seen when the midfielder will return to action, but he is at Thorp Arch and he’ll be doing all he can to get himself fit and firing on all cylinders once more.

Jack Harrison – hip

Harrison was playing through the pain of a hip injury towards the end of last season and while he started most games, he made a habit of being withdrawn at around the hour mark. He has returned to Thorp Arch but he’s sat out of training so far while the club’s medical staff work to get it right.

Like Adams, Harrison’s future at Elland Road is uncertain but he’ll be hoping to return to the grass sooner rather than later.

Luis Sinisterra – ankle

Sinisterra’s first season at Elland Road didn’t exactly go to plan with a series of injuries limiting him to just 19 run outs in the Premier League. His latest came during the draw with Leicester City and that was enough to rule him out for the final five games of the Premier League season.

He has been working with a trainer and receiving treatment over the summer in an attempt to leave his injury troubles behind, but he isn’t quite ready to resume training just yet.

Stuart Dallas – leg

Dallas hasn’t been seen in a Leeds shirt since fracturing his femur in action against Manchester City in April 2022. There was hope last season that he would be able to return in time to feature, but, given the severity of the injury, it wasn’t to be.

He is at Thorp Arch working with the club’s physios and conditioning staff, but he isn’t training just yet and there is no set date on his return to action.
