Leeds United legend Chris Kamara nearly has TV show 'taken off the air' because of risqué joke

Leeds United legend Chris Kamara nearly got a Channel 4 programme ‘taken off the air’ because of a risqué joke.

Kammy, 62, was a guest on lunchtime magazine show Steph’s Packed Lunch when the hilarious incident happened.

The former Leeds United star, now a popular TV star, was a guest alongside comedian Russell Kane and classical singer star Russell Watson.

The two Russells were discussing the confusion of them appearing on the programme and having the same first name when Kammy interjected.

“We just aren’t used to hearing our name on live TV unless it is for us,” Russell Kane said.

“Although, they are slightly different names. I’m Russell whereas, of course, because you are from the north you are ‘Rossell’ as my wife says.”

Kamara joked: “I’ve heard your wife. She calls you a lot worse than that.”

Russell Kane replied: “Don’t get us taken off the air Kammy.”

When Kammy made his comments the whole studio of the Channel 4 programme fell into laughter.

Fans of the former footballer will be very familiar with his cheeky sense of humour.
