Leeds United legend Chris Kamara backs Alex Scott for success as Question of Sport host

Leeds United legend Chris Kamara has given his backing to Alex Scott taking on the role as Question Of Sport’s host.

The 35-year-old former star of the Arsenal women’s team has become a popular pundit since hanging up her boots. This morning, it was confirmed she’ll be taking over from former tennis player Sue Barker as the presenter of the long-running BBC sports quiz.

Former Leeds United player Kammy, 62, has also become a household name on TV since retiring from football. He presented Sky Sports highlights show Goals On Sunday last Season with Alex Scott and thinks she’ll do a great job on Question Of Sport - despite some people questioning the decision to rebrand the programme.

You can what Kammy posted on his Twitter account below

The Question of Sport makeover will see a new host and two new team captains.

It has yet to be confirmed who will replace former rugby player Matt Dawson and cricketer Phil Tufnell in those positions.

On the subject of Goals On Sunday, Kammy has recently ended his hosting role with the programme. This season, it has been incorporated into Sky Sports News and this means Kammy is no longer hosting Goals On Sunday after 20 years in the position.

Down the years, Kammy has welcomed a series of co-presenters including Alex Scott, Ian Payne and Ben Shephard.
