Leeds United hit with Rodrigo and Raphinha blows as Liam Cooper returns to face Leicester City

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has been hit with two selection blows for tonight's Premier League clash against Leicester City.

Rodrigo misses out as he is undergoing self-isolation as per Premier League and Government guidelines after having been in close contact with someone has subsequently tested positive for Covid-19.

Deadline day signing Raphinha is also absent from the squad after suffering an ankle injury, but there is better news in the return of Liam Cooper following injury.

Bielsa has therefore made three changes to the side that saw off Aston Villa last time out, with Cooper replacing Gjanni Alioski, Pablo Hernandez in for Rodrigo, while Jamie Shackleton is recalled in place of Pascal Struijk, who was subbed off after 21 minutes following an early booking at Villa Park.

Whites skipper Cooper has returned to the starting XI after missing the club's last two games with a groin injury that he picked up while on international duty with Scotland last month.

That means Illan Meslier continues in goal, with Luke Ayling able to move back into his usual right-back role after filling for Cooper at Villa Park, while Stuart Dallas will return to the left-back position. Cooper will partner Robin Koch in central defense.

Mateusz Klich is set to continue in the defensive midfield role that he played for the majority of the win over Villa, with Jamie Shackleton and Pablo Hernandez playing centrally in front of him.

Jack Harrison and Helder Costa will again provide the width, while Patrick Bamford, fresh from his superb Villa Park hat-trick, will again lead the line.

Kalvin Phillips and Diego Llorente again miss out through injury, joining long-term absentees Adam Forshaw and Gaetano Berardi on the sidelines.

A win for the Whites tonight will see them move back into the top four ahead of this weekend's trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.

Leeds United: Meslier, Ayling, Koch, Cooper, Dallas, Klich, Shackleton, Costa, Harrison, Hernandez, Bamford

Subs: Casilla, Alioski, Struijk, Casey, Poveda, Roberts, Davis
