Leeds United have already told Kalvin Phillips the date when he must report back for pre-season

Leeds United's pre-season regime is well into its second week with many of the players who participated at EURO 2020 now returning to Thorp Arch.

Kalvin Phillips will undoubtedly be one of the last players to report back for training given he played almost every minute of England's EURO 2020 campaign, which finished in penalty shoot-out agony on July 11.

Phillips covered over 30 kilometres on the pitch during his last two appearances for England at the tournament.

His work-rate is something which Leeds United supporters have almost gotten used to over the past three years under Marcelo Bielsa.

However, to the national audience, Phillips' exemplary attitude and ceaseless engine came in for much praise.

Following his exploits at the European Championships, Phillips has returned to West Yorkshire, where he was captured speaking to an office in an impromptu visit.

Pictured alongside him in the video was agent and former professional footballer Kevin Sharp.

The clip posted on Twitter, which saw Leeds United fans praise the midfielder for his humility in remaining grounded despite his new-found fame, was taken at a solicitor's firm in Leeds.

Speaking in the video taken on July 13, Phillips confirmed he had been given "11 days off" by Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds' team of fitness coaches.

This comment brought about a chuckle from the watching employees, many of whom presumably familiar with the expectations Bielsa places upon his players.

Consequently, Phillips is expected to be back at Thorp Arch before Leeds' first pre-season friendly at Guiseley on July 27.

Although, it is unclear whether he will be integrated back into first-team training at that early stage, as he will be required to undergo a sequence of fitness tests first.

Therefore, it's unlikely Phillips will feature in the Whites' opening trio of friendlies, versus Guiseley, Fleetwood Town and Blackburn Rovers.

That said, it does afford him a good chance of being ready to feature in the opening game of the season against Manchester United.
