Leeds United handed Kalvin Phillips injury boost and the one area Marcelo Bielsa must fix

Here's all the news from around Elland Road over the past 24 hours.

Moments missed from Leeds’ late win over Swansea

Leeds scored an 89th-minute winner to beat Swansea City on Sunday, as they close in on promotion to the Premier League.

Pablo Hernandez scored to spark mass celebrations amongst the Whites’ squad and staff members at the Liberty Stadium.

Beren Cross of Leeds Live has written about the moments you may have missed during the dramatic win - including Jack Charlton being remembered after news of his tragic death.

As well as that, Matt Grimes was nutmegged by Luke Ayling, Stuart Dallas was furious during the game and Hernandez gobbed off to the Swansea dugout.

Leeds handed Phillips injury boost

Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips should be fit for the Whites’ match against Barnsley on Thursday, according to the Whites’ boss Bielsa.

Phillips played all 90 minutes of the Championship leaders’ 1-0 win over Swansea on Sunday, but did so with heavy strapping around his left knee.

Bielsa is hopeful that the Leeds-born midfielder will be fit for Thursday: “Yes, we think he will be able (to play) on Thursday.

“We have four more days yet, so we have time to verify and analyse the situation.”

Matteo reveals trait Leeds need to succeed in the Premier League

Former Leeds captain Dominic Matteo believes his ex-side will have to become more physical to succeed in the Premier League, if they are promoted.

The Whites are top of the Championship and are just three games away from reaching the top-flight for the first time in 16 years.

Matteo has revealed what Leeds need to do to make sure they stay in the Premier League, if Bielsa can guide his side to promotion.

The former Leeds skipper told LUTV: “I like it when we’re aggressive. We actually get stuck into teams as well. Sometimes when you look at Leeds United we’re not a big physical team.

"We just rely on good players and that’s what we’ve got. I think it’s one thing we’d have to work on when we get promoted.”
