Marcelo Bielsa gives update on Tyler Roberts injury following Reading victory

Marcelo Bielsa has given an update on Tyler Roberts' fitness after the forward was forced off during the first half of Leeds United's 1-0 win over Reading.

The Welshman was making his fourth start of the campaign after his start to the season was disrupted by injury but went down just after the half-hour mark and needed treatment for what appeared to be a hamstring problem.

After consulting with the medical team, a clearly upset Roberts headed off down the tunnel and was replaced by Helder Costa on 35 minutes.

Costa took up position on the right, with Pablo Hernandez moving into the middle and it was the Portuguese's cross that Jack Harrison headed home on 87 minutes to secure the win for Leeds which saw them return to the top of the table.

Following the match, Marcelo Bielsa gave an update on Roberts' condition.

"He felt something in some muscle," said the Whites boss. "He wanted to continue, but we thought that was risky and we prefer to substitute him."

Next up for Leeds is a home clash against Middlesbrough on Saturday. Bielsa will likely face the media again at Thorp Arch on Thursday where he will give a further update on Roberts' fitness.
