Leeds United hand Nottingham Forest double transfer boost - report

Leeds United are reportedly out of the race for Nottingham Forest transfer target Cauley Woodrow.

Woodrow and Dwight Gayle - of Barnsley and Newcastle United respectively - are thought to be of interest to the Reds as they seek a striker to take the pressure off Lewis Grabban for the second half of the season.

The Yorkshire Evening Post say Marcelo Bielsa's Championship table toppers are not in for both, with Bristol City also said to be interested in Woodrow and West Bromwich Albion in Gayle.

Woodrow is currently out injured having missed his side's previous League match at Derby County, while Gayle has made just one start for Newcastle in the Premier League this season with the former Crystal Palace marksman out-of-favour under Steve Bruce.

Forest have been heavily linked with Gayle while Woodrow was mentioned as a target for Sabri Lamouchi's side this morning.

Leeds, who are level with West Brom at the top of the Championship table on 52 points, will be on the hunt for a striker having seen Eddie Nketiah - another linked with Forest - depart the club this month and return to parent side Arsenal.
