The Premier League and EFL have extended the current suspension of English football to at least April 30 in their latest response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The authorities have also confirmed that the season will now be extended indefinitely, following last week's initial announcement postponing all fixtures until April 3.
Leeds have seen their trip to Cardiff City and their home clash against Fulham already go unplayed and today's announcement means a further five fixtures - at least - are affected.
The Premier League's statement confirmed that rules regarding the end date for the current season are being relaxed.
“The FA’s Rules and Regulations state that ‘the season shall terminate not later than the 1 June’ and ‘each competition shall, within the limit laid down by The FA, determine the length of its own playing season’@, the statement reads.
“However, The FA’s Board has agreed for this limit to be extended indefinitely for the 2019/20 season in relation to Professional Football."
That is potentially good news for Leeds, who currently sit top of the Championship table and want to ensure the season is complered.

One match of the original schedule remains following the trip to Pride Park - a home clash against Charlton Athletic, that is currently due to be played on Saturday, May 2.
