The Premier League has today announced their TV selections for the first weekend in October, as well as altering some kick-off times ahead of the forthcoming weekend’s fixtures.
Following the new coronavirus rules that were set out by the government on Tuesday, confirming that all pubs, bars and restaurants are to close at 10pm, the Premier League has made the decision to tweak some of the kick-off times for this weekend’s matches, ensuring that supporters watching the game at a pub or bar do not miss the concluding moments of the encounter.
On Monday evening, Fulham’s clash with Aston Villa at Craven Cottage will now kick-off at the slightly earlier time of 5:45pm opposed to 6:00pm, meaning Liverpool’s highly anticipated clash with Arsenal will also get underway at the earlier time of 8:00pm instead of 8:15pm.
As for the next batch of TV fixtures to be announced for the opening weekend in October, the Premier League have confirmed that all 10 fixtures that weekend will be shown on TV, with Sky Sports and BT Sport hosting the matches.
Sky Sports will screen six of the matches, including Leeds United's against Manchester City at Elland Road on Saturday, October 3, whilst BT Sport will show four of them.
