Leeds United first-team stars in guard of honour for title-winning Under 23 players

It's a moment these young players will never forget.

The morning after winning their Under 23 league title, Leeds United's young champions were treated to a guard of honour from Marcelo Bielsa's first team stars.

One of the young title-winning players is former Linfield teen Charlie Allen, who joined the Premier League club's academy last August.

Allen has been a revelation in his debut season, already forcing his way onto Bielsa's radar despite still only being 17 years old.

Saturday morning would have been a special moment for Allen, with Northern Ireland compatriot Stuart Dallas among the first-team stars to take part in the guard of honour.

Leeds clinched the PL2 Division 2 title on Friday night with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa.

Along with lifting the league trophy, they also earn promotion to Division 1.

Leeds United Under 23 coach Mark Jackson told the club's website: “It’s a fantastic achievement from a group of players who have played all season, set their targets, and have achieved them with games to spare as well.

‘I am made up for the players throughout the season and for the club as well because it’s important, it is a massive team effort from the players in the squad and also the staff as well.

“Not just the coaching staff, but the recruitment staff as well and everyone who is associated with the team have done really, really well."
