Leeds United fans will love what Premier League owner has said about promotion

A Premier League owner has expressed his wish for Leeds United to be promoted.

In an interview with Sky Sports, an unnamed owner has said he wants Marcelo Bielsa's men to be given a spot in next year's Premier League.

Leeds are currently seven points ahead of third-place Fulham and one clear of West Brom, another team the owner wants to see promoted with the unnamed club chief saying there is a '40% chance' the current season will be cancelled.

"Nobody knows how to settle things if we don't play again," he said.

"I still believe no relegation would be the best solution and we can go with having a 22-team league for one season with Leeds and West Brom coming up."

The owner explained why he thought the teams currently in danger of relegation shouldn't be subject to the drop without playing remaining games.

He reasoned: "Whatever happens relegated teams would sue, that's why I favour no relegation."

The Premier League remain committed to finish the current season, as do the EFL in the case of the Championship.

Though, neither league has managed to take major steps towards continuing play despite the suggested target date of mid-June for resumption.
