Leeds United fans will love what Neil Warnock has said about the Whites’ Premier League aim

Former Leeds United manager Neil Warnock has backed the Whites to complete their comeback to the Premier League after a 16-year absence.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men sit at the top of the Championship table with just four games left to play after recording an impressive 5-0 win over Stoke City on Thursday night.

They are back in action again on Sunday when they take on Swansea City, with the aim of bringing Premier League football one step closer.

Warnock managed Leeds for 62 games between 2012 and 2013 and is now in charge of Middlesbrough until the end of the season.

Beren Cross on Leeds United's win over Stoke

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the 71-year-old has made a prediction that will please both Leeds and West Brom fans.

“I do hope Leeds and West Brom go up if I'm honest,” he said.

“Leeds have been a fabulous club and they've had their breakdowns over the years.

“Last night was vital, They can relax a bit now and try and get over the line.

"Before lockdown, they were the best teams.

“They deserve to be in the top flight.”

The win over Stoke leaves Leeds one point clear of West Brom in second and, perhaps more importantly, six points clear of Brentford in third place.

Two wins and a draw in the final four games of the season will be enough to see Leeds return to the Premier League.
