Leeds United fans will love what Lucas Radebe said about their promotion chances

Former Leeds United centre-half Lucas Radebe has backed Marcelo Bielsa’s side to achieve promotion this season.

The 50-year-old cult hero was back at Elland Road in October to take part in the club’s centenary celebrations and he still believes the club will return to the promised land of the Premier League this year.

Radebe took to social media following Saturday’s 1-0 win over Bristol City, three vitally important points as the rest of the top seven failed to win, as he hailed the fans for the atmosphere inside Elland Road and claimed 'glory days are coming back' for the club.

Leeds remain in second but moved within four points of league leaders West Brom and three points clear of Fulham, who suffered a shock 3-0 defeat at home to relegation battlers Barnsley.

The Whites now have a run of games against mid-table and bottom-half teams coming up and will be looking to put a winning run together after faltering over the past couple of months with just three wins from the last 12 in the Championship.

"Glory days are coming back,” Radebe wrote on Twitter after Luke Ayling's winner on Saturday.

"What a fantastic atmosphere, we are going up."
