Former Tottenham star turned Match of the Day pundit Jermaine Jenas has hailed Patrick Bamford after his start to the season for Leeds United.
Bamford found the back of the net for the Whites in their 4-3 defeat at Liverpool last weekend and did so again yesterday when he struck in Leeds' 4-3 win over Fulham.
The striker offers much more than just goals in Marcelo Bielsa's rigorous set-up but it's a good development that he is finding the goals so soon this season.
Bamford's performance was analysed on Match of the Day late last night and Jenas had some glowing praise for the 27-year-old.
Jenas told the BBC: "He’s a player where a lot of Leeds fans sat on the fence with him. I think they know the work rate he brings to the table but did he have that clinical nature?
"Bielsa knows what he brings to the table for Leeds, he fits into their system very well.
"His work rate and understanding of the role to provide and score goals but to work for the team, get back into defensive positions and break things up. He wins a penalty for his team.
"Is he clinical enough? Well, that’s a lovely cool, composed finish, two in two games.
"A little bit of pace here, gets himself an assist. It was a really strong performance from Bamford today and a great start to the season.”
