Leeds United fans spot Tim Sherwood pivot as he changes tune on familiar Marcelo Bielsa criticism

Leeds United fans have called out Tim Sherwood for his u-turn on the Whites.

The former Tottenham manager accused Marcelo Bielsa's side of being 'burnt out' after a tough run of form in December.

"Dare I say it, these look like they've blown a gasket already, Sherwood said back in December," during Amazon Prime's coverage.

"They looked tired against West Ham. They're supposed to be the fittest team in the league."

Fast forward four months and Leeds have all-but secured their Premier League status for next season, with 13 points separating the Whites from the bottom three with only nine matches left to be played.

Sherwood has now admitted he was too quick in his 'burnout' judgement as he praised Leeds' recent form under Bielsa.

Speaking to Optus Sport, Sherwood said: "I thought they were supposed to be running out of gas at this point in the season - they look like they're getting stronger. Fantastic performance, love Bielsa, love Leeds."

Leeds fans haven't forgotten Sherwood's previous comments, though, and they made their feelings clear across social media.

Sherwood is not the first and won't be the last to trot out the same recycled line, not that Bielsa takes much notice.

"A man with new ideas is a madman, until his ideas triumph," is one of the most popular quotes attributed to Bielsa and even features on the mural of the Leeds United head coach in Hyde Park.
