Leeds United fans spot Patrick Bamford team news hint ahead of Fulham League Cup game

Leeds United will be hoping to reach the Carabao Cup fourth round for the first time since 2017 when they travel to Fulham on Tuesday night.

It has been a difficult start to the campaign in the Premier League for Marcelo Bielsa's side, but they turn their attention to another competition looking to build some momentum.

The Whites' only victory this season came in the cup as they beat Crewe Alexandra 3-0 thanks to a Jack Harrison brace and Kalvin Phillips' strike.

But it's expected to be a much more rotated side from the one which lined-up at Elland Road, with Leeds plagued with a number of injury issues.

Robin Koch, Jack Harrison, Pascal Struijk and Diego Llorente are all expected to miss the game, whilst Raphinha and Luke Ayling are doubts after the pair were both substituted during the 1-1 draw at Newcastle United.

Someone who might also not feature in the clash in west London is Patrick Bamford, who has been spotted at a cycle launch in Yorkshire.

In the photo he posted on Instagram, it appears that Bamford had a support bandage on his right ankle which is same one he injured against Newcastle.

Bamford went down feeling his ankle after a heavy challenge with ten minutes to go at St James' Park and left the pitch for treatment before coming back on to complete the match. Bielsa did not confirm the extent of any potential injury in his post-match press conference.

Nonetheless, the 28-year-old was out helping the Dewsbury Road Hub with their Elland Road cycle route and made this comment after appearing at the event.

He posted: "Delighted to be involved in the launch of the Elland Road cycle lane - Great way to connect people in the area with the city centre. It helps people to stay fit and healthy and hopefully starts the ball rolling to reduce the carbon footprint in Leeds.

"We all need to make small steps to help fight climate change and protect the environment."

This has made some supporters question whether Bamford could play against Fulham after he came on as a second-half substitute in the win over Crewe.

According to Twitter use @Iufcfanzone, one fan told them that the 28-year-old believes he should be 'ok' for this weekend's Premier League clash with West Ham United.

"Patrick Bamford himself has now posted about the cycle event he was at today in Leeds," they posted.

"Someone who was at the event (who told us about his absence) asked about his bandaged right ankle, which you can see in this photo, but he said he was ok for West Ham."

The fan page continued by saying that Bamford will not feature against Fulham, but it isn't injury-related, meaning Bielsa could be set to potentially shuffle his pack.

Leeds take on Fulham in a 7.45pm kick-off at Craven Cottage on Tuesday evening.
