Leeds United fans split over Mallik Wilks' Barnsley transfer

Leeds United supporters have been sharing their contrasting views over Mallik Wilks' sale to Barnsely.

The 20-year-old completed his move to Oakwell on Friday evening, signing a four-year deal with the South Yorkshire side, who paid an undisclosed fee for his services.

His move comes after a successful stint at League One side Doncaster Rovers last season, with Wilks joining his former Elland Road team-mate Aapo Halme at Barnsely, after the Finn completed a permanent move there earlier this week.

After netting 16 goals for Rovers last season, many Leeds United fans were hoping to see what Wilks could do in a Leeds shirt during the pre-season, but following no less than seven new arrivals this week, the club have decided to cash in on his services.

Adding to mix is a looming court case for Wilks, which will take place next May .

Wilks leaves the club with just one substitute first-team appearance to his name, a cameo off the bench against Sutton United in the FA Cup in January 2017.

Fans have been split on the club's decision to sell the Thorp Arch product, with some sorry to see him go and others trusting in the current playing staff and Marcelo Bielsa's desire to carry a small squad.

Here's how they've reacted to the decision on social media...
