Leeds United fans slam Fifa's Raphinha Premier League decision ahead of Liverpool

Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to react to FIFA's decision to ban Brazilian internationals who were not released by their clubs for the latest round of international fixtures.

This now means that Leeds winger Raphinha will miss Sunday's game against Liverpool. The Brazilian Football Federation had requested to FIFA that the players who were initially called up to the international fixtures and subsequently were not released by their clubs, should be banned from featuring for their sides for a five-day period (September 9-14).

FIFA have now imposed the ruling meaning that a whole host of Premier League clubs will be without some of their most important players for the latest round of fixtures, something which has bemused fans across the league.

Liverpool will be missing the Brazilian trio of Alisson Becker, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho.

However, the ruling has been made even more bemusing by the fact that Brazil have waved Everton striker Richarlison from the ban as they reportedly have a good relationship with the club after the Toffees allowed him to compete in the Olympics earlier this summer.

Premier League clubs reportedly face sanctions if they fail to follow FIFA's ruling on their Brazilian players this week, but the clubs are expected to challenge FIFA on their decision.

Raphinha will next be available for selection for the Leeds' game with Newcastle on Friday week when they take on Newcastle United at St James' Park.
