Leeds United fans have taken to social media to react to the clubs' decision to appeal Pascal Struijk's red card for a tackle on Harvey Elliott during Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Early into the second half Struijk attempted to dispossess Elliott who was breaking away into the Leeds half at speed and in doing so, the central defender dislocated the 18-year-old's ankle.
Initially, referee Craig Pawson had not signalled for a foul, it was only after Mohamed Salah frantically reacted to Elliott's out-of-socket ankle that play would be halted and Struijk would eventually be dismissed.
However, on Tuesday it was confirmed that the Whites would be lodging an appeal to the Football Association in the hope of the red card being overturned, meaning that he would be available for selection for Friday's game against Newcastle if successful.

There is every chance that Leeds' appeal could be successful given what happened to Son Heung-min in 2019 when he was sent off against Everton for a similar challenge on Andre Gomes.
Son was initially shown a yellow card only for referee Martin Atkinson, however, after it became apparent just how bad Gomes' injury was, Atkinson later produced a red card.
Son's appeal was successful after an independent regulatory upheld his claim of wrongful dismissal.
