Leeds United fans react to major injury boost for Middlesbrough clash

It was the last thing Leeds United fans wanted to see.

In only his second game after returning from a three-match suspension Kalvin Phillips was forced off the field with an injury after just 37 minutes against Reading on Saturday.

Fans took to social media across the weekend, at first desperately trying to find out more about the seriousness of the injury and then reacting with relief to news coming initially from EFL on Quest then on Instagram where Phillips replied to Ian Wright’s query about his injury.

Phillips told Wright it was nothing more than a dead calf.

However some fans preferred to remain on the side of caution...

Bielsa will give an update on Kalvin Phillips’s injury in his press conference on Tuesday ahead of the Middlesbrough game. It will also be an opportunity to find out the latest on Kiko Casilla who reportedly sustained an injury to his hand during the Reading game.

If the trip to the Riverside Stadium comes too early for Phillips, all being well he should be on the bus to Hull City ahead of Leeds United’s visit to KCOM Stadium on Saturday.
