Leeds United fans react to 'embarrassing' Man United first-half horror show at Old Trafford

Leeds United were left reeling by a nightmare start to their long awaited Premier League return to Old Trafford.

Just 69 seconds were on the clock when Scott McTominay opened the scoring with a superbly hit strike from 20 yards, but it quickly got worse for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

McTominay doubled the hosts' lead a minute later and the Whites found themselves 2-0 down after just three minutes.

Leeds looked to steady the ship and Patrick Bamford was able to find the back of the net, only to be correctly flagged for offside on 19 minutes.

A minute after that though, the Red Devils had a third, when Bruno Fernandes thumped the ball home from 12 yards away. A fourth followed on 37 minutes when Victor Lindelof was able to poke home from a corner.

With Leeds' defence in disarray and the Whites losing the midfield battle it was a humbling opening to a match supporters had waited so long for, with their last visit to Old Trafford as a Premier League side coming back in 2004.

Liam Cooper did give fans the slightest slither of hope when he pulled one back before the break, with Leeds fans celebrating the goal with some typical gallows humour.

Here is a look at how Leeds fans reacted to the 'embarrassing' start to the match.

Next up for Leeds, who began the day 14th in the Premier League table, is an Elland Road clash against Burnley on December 27.
