Leeds United fans react to Diego Llorente's absence for Burnley clash

Leeds United fans have revealed their disappointment at Diego Llorente's absence from the squad to face Burnley.

The Whites make just one change from the team that suffered a heavy defeat to Manchester United last time out, with Pascal Struijk replacing the injured Liam Cooper.

It means Llorente has not appeared since he made his Whites debut against Chelsea earlier this month when he came on for Robin Koch in the opening ten minutes at Stamford Bridge.

Llorente's absence has come as a surprise after Marcelo Bielsa revealed in midweek that the 27-year-old was fit to play again.

He said: "Liam Cooper has a strain in his abdominals, it’s subject to his evolution how long he will be out for.

"Diego Llorente is in condition to play again."

Yet a decision has clearly been made not to risk the Spanish centre-back, despite injuries to Cooper and Robin Koch meaning the Whites are short in defence.

Llorente himself attributed his injury against Chelsea due to some aches, revealing he would not be out for too long.

He said at the time: "My debut finally came after so much time waiting to play my first game. Unfortunately, the result wasn't good and I'll have to stop due to some aches.

"I'll work, work and work to get well as soon as possible and get back stronger!"

Yet Leeds will clearly be waiting a little longer before they can see Llorente back in action during what is a hectic fixture schedule.
