Leeds United fans reach out to 'legend' Vinnie Jones after his wife sadly passes away

Vinnie Jones has had hundreds of message of support from Leeds United fans after his 53-year-old wife Tanya sadly died following a battle with cancer.

The pair first met when they were just 12 and later tied the knot in his twenties. Vinnie and Tanya were married for 25 years, before she sadly passed away.

Vinnie became a fan favourite among Whites fans during his brief spell with the club between 1989 and 1990, and played alongside the likes of David Batty, Gary Speed and Gordon Strachan.

A tweet from the official Leeds United Twitter account said: "The thoughts of everyone at #LUFC are with Vinnie Jones, and the family and friends of his wife Tanya, who has sadly passed away #FootballFamily".

Whites fans responded in their droves, sending their best wishes to the tough-tackling midfielder.
