Leeds United fans praise Patrick Bamford but send message about two players in ratings

Fans praised Patrick Bamford in their player ratings after Leeds United’s draw with Brentford but sent a message to Marcelo Bielsa about two players.

Leeds limped to a difficult 2-2 draw with Brentford at Elland Road yesterday, surrendering the lead and losing Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper to injury.

The match had to be rescued by Bamford, who returned from injury and came off the bench in the second half to score the equaliser in added time.

Asked to give their player ratings after the match, fans ranked Bamford as the best player on 7.3. The next highest was Raphinha on 7. Then came Tyler Roberts, who scored the first goal, on 6.9, alongside Adam Forshaw.

Here are the player ratings according to fans:

Also returning from injury was Luke Ayling, who was given a 6.6 rating by fans. Kalvin Phillips, who had to leave the pitch due to injury not long into the second half, was given 6.3. There is no update yet on how serious his injury is.

Liam Cooper was given a rating of 5.0, though the figure should be taken with a pinch of salt as he had to leave the pitch in the first quarter of an hour due to injury. Again, there is no update on his injury.

The next worst ratings were 5.4 for Junior Firpo and Mateusz Klich. Firpo had to make way for Bamford in the second half. The number contradicts the 7 given to him by LeedsLive reporter Beren Cross, who felt it was one of Firpo’s ‘better showings’.

Klich, who replaced Phillips, was also given a 5.4 by fans, which aligned more closely with the 5 given to him by LeedsLive’s Beren Cross, who felt the club’s former key player was ‘not changing games’.
