Leeds United fans make team prediction for Fulham after Carabao Cup exit to Hull City

Leeds United fans have reacted with mixed feelings following their Carabao Cup exit to Hull City.

The Whites suffered defeat in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw with their Yorkshire rivals, meaning they exit the competition at the second round.

Following 11 changes by Marcelo Bielsa from the side that impressed against Liverpool, plenty of Whites fans were disappointed to see players fail to make the case that they should be starting.

Yet, with the focus on Premier League survival this season, not many were disappointed to see an early exit from the Carabao Cup.

The Whites trailed for a large period of the game, with former Leeds winger Mallik Wilks opening the scoring for Hull after just five minutes.

Despite dominating possession, the Whites struggled to break their League One opponents down, with Hull recording 18 shots in comparison to Leeds' eight.

Ezgjan Alioski equalised in the third minute of stoppage time at the end of the game to take it to penalties.

A high-scoring shootout eventually saw Leeds go down 9-8 in sudden death to hand the victory to Hull City.

Both Alioski and Jamie Shackleton missed spot-kicks in the shootout, with Hull defender Alfie Jones netting the winning penalty to secure his side a game against West Ham in the next round.

It means that, until January's FA Cup third round at least, Leeds are focusing on the Premier League.

Their next game is against Fulham on Saturday, with Elland Road set to play host to Premier League football for the first time in 16 years.

Following the defeat to Hull City, it looks likely that Marcelo Bielsa will once again ring the changes, with a host of first-team players missing out on the Carabao Cup game.

After playing Fulham, the Whites then travel to Sheffield United before hosting Manchester City.
