An enterprising Leeds United fan has set up a website to allow supporters to keep track of the campaign to free Ben White.
#FreeBenWhite was trending nationally on Twitter on Saturday evening following news that the Whites had had two bids to keep their loan star on a permanent basis turned down by Brighton & Hove Albion.
With White said to have turned down two contract offers to extend his stay at the Seagulls, some tongue-in-cheek Leeds fans argued he was being kept against his will on the south coast.
They called for the Seagulls to free Ben White and allow him to return to Elland Road after his incredibly successful loan spell helped Leeds to promotion back to the Premier League.
One Whites fan has now created FreeBenWhite.com to allow fans to keep track of the campaign to convinced Brighton to allow him to return to Elland Road.
The website has a simple message that reads "No. Ben White is not free yet." but also tracks how many fans have tweeted the hashtag #FreeBenWhite.
So far, more than 9,500 Leeds fans have shared their support for the campaign.
Leeds have so far had two bids rejected for the centre-back.
After seeing their first bid of £18.5m knocked back, the Whites upped their offer to £22m, but this was also rejected.
Brighton are said to have an asking price of £40m for White, which could well put him outside of what Leeds can afford.
A report in the Argus claims Brighton are relaxed over White's contract situation and plan to offer him another new deal.
The race for the 22-year-old has been further complicated by the fact that both Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked with interest in the player.
