There was quite a buzz on social media last night as Leeds United’s Under-23s recorded a resounding 6-0 victory over Watford.
It was from a side that featured Luke Ayling scoring on his first appearance since last season, while other first-team regulars Tyler Roberts and Eddie Nketiah were also on the scoresheet in the emphatic win.
Marcelo Bielsa was watching on from the stands and will have been impressed with what he saw, while Watford’s official twitter account was less than impressed with the inclusion of senior players in United’s team with a passive-aggressive comment.
Roberts, who made his first appearance of the season for the Under-23s goalless draw at Crystal Palace last week, posted on Twitter how happy he is to be back at it after slotting home a penalty in the second half.
16-year-old prospect Stuart McKinstry also reacted to the big win after making his first start at Elland Road.
