Leeds United fans hammer Chelsea boss Frank Lampard as Whites' youngster sent out on loan

Here is your Leeds United morning digest for Tuesday, September 22.

Leeds United’s injury list ahead of Sheffield United trip

Having avoided a trip to West Ham this week after crashing out of the Carabao Cup at the first hurdle, thoughts are already turning to next Sunday’s trip to face Sheffield United.

John Egan will be suspended for the hosts after he was sent off against Aston Villa last night, while Leeds could also be set to be without one of their key players.

Pablo Hernandez played no part in Saturday’s 4-3 win over Fulham after suffering a groin strain while warming out.

Marcelo Bielsa played down the injury in his post-match press conference, which suggests the 35-year-old could be in line to return in the Yorkshire derby.

"Pablo had a small knock in the warm-up," said Bielsa. "We don’t think it’s very serious.”

Here’s the rest of the injury news in full, including the latest on Adam Forshaw and Kiko Casilla.

Leeds fans hammer Frank Lampard after Chelsea defeat

Leeds United fans need little invitation to criticise Frank Lampard, given his history with Derby County, nor old rivals Chelsea.

The Blues were well-beaten at home to Liverpool on Sunday, losing 2-0 and offering little offensive threat against Jurgen Klopp’s champions, prompting inevitable comparisons to how Leeds approached the challenge, having narrowly lost 4-3 at Anfield.

“You can see levels with how Chelsea are coached compared to Leeds,” wrote one fan on Twitter.

“Chelsea are unable to break the press from Liverpool, Leeds last Saturday knew exactly how to break it.”

Jordan Stevens completes loan move

Leeds youngster Jordan Stevens has completed a season-long loan move to Swindon Town.

The 20-year-old winger, who made four appearances for Bielsa’s senior term last term, will spend the 2020/21 campaign playing for Richie Wellens’ Robins in League One.

It’s long been expected that Stevens would head out on loan for the upcoming season, and others could be set to join him out of the door.

“All the players who won’t have a chance in the first team, we will try to give an option for them to out on loan,” Bielsa said after a second-string Leeds exited the Carabao Cup after a penalty shootout defeat to Hull last Wednesday.
