Leeds United fans hailed after what they did following Norwich City win

Leeds United secured their second win of the season at Carrow Road on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over Norwich City.

After a tough first half with chances at a premium for both sides, a frantic four-minute spell saw the game swing one way and the other, but it was ultimately Leeds who earned the three points.

Raphinha and Rodrigo were on the scoresheet for the Whites, either side of an Andrew Omobamidele equaliser, to help Marcelo Bielsa’s side climb back out of the relegation zone into 17th place.

But after the game, it was Stuart Dallas’ name that Leeds supporters were singing due to the difficult period he has endured in his personal life in recent months.

As the 30-year-old and the rest of the Leeds squad went to thank the away end for their support at full time, ‘there’s only one Stuart Dallas’ echoed around Carrow Road.

In an interview last week, Dallas opened up on the loss of one of his closest friends very suddenly in September at a time when he also contracted Covid-19.

Speaking after the match to BBC West Yorkshire Sport, via HITC, Jon Newsome praised the way the Leeds fanbase rallied around last season’s player of the year after his tough time.

He said: “It was nice. It was lovely. Fair play to the supporters for doing that. There’s a lot of love out there for him.”
