Leeds United fans deliver unified assessment of 'undeserved' Everton defeat

Leeds United fans have unanimously agreed that they didn't deserve to lose against Everton.

On a night which saw a brand-new Elland Road surface, the Whites were unable to showcase their full ability, as the Toffees picked up all three points.

An early goal from Gylfi Sigurdsson put Marcelo Bielsa's team a goal down and Dominic Calvert-Lewin doubled the visitors' advantage on 41 minutes.

In between the two strikes from the away side, Gjanni Alioski 's volley smashed the post and Pascal Struijk also had a header saved.

There was a swift response from Leeds in the second-half with Raphinha scoring against Everton for the second time this season.

Robin Olsen pulled off some stunning saves to deny Mateusz Klich, Raphinha and Jack Harrison in quick succession around the hour-mark.

Patrick Bamford's header hit the crossbar on 72 minutes, before bouncing over Olsen's goal.

However, despite plenty of pressure in the second period, the Whites were unable to break down Carlo Ancelotti's defence.

For Bielsa and his team, it's a chance missed to move into the top half of the table following Arsenal's defeat on Tuesday.

Leeds supporters have been reacting to their side's 2-1 home defeat and plenty of them believe that the Yorkshire club deserved more from the clash.

It was a stark contrast for Leeds, who were clinical in attack when they played Leicester City at the weekend.

This time around, despite a positive performance on the night, the attackers were unable to capitalise on the pressure they showed.

Next up for the Whites, Crystal Palace come to Elland Road on Monday evening as the home side look to return to winning ways.
