Leeds United fans call for punishment as EFL launch inquiry into Derby County's Pride Park sale

It's fair to say that Leeds United and Derby County had a fairly tetchy relationship last season.

The Spygate saga was one of the biggest sporting stories of the year, and it was the Rams who inflicted a painful play-off semi-final defeat at Elland Road.

Another contentious issue was Derby's decision to sell their stadium to a separate company affiliated with their own chairman Mel Morris, reportedly in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Leeds United fans were up in arms over the stadium sale, and even chairman Andrea Radrizzani blasted Derby, arguing that the club should face sanctions.

Now, according to The Times, Derby COULD still face sanctions over the sale of Pride Park, after the Football League ordered an independent valuation of the stadium.

It's fair to say that some Leeds United fans are hoping to see Derby and Morris receive their comeuppance.
