Leeds United fan transforms Niagara Falls into mesmerising tribute to Championship title winners

A diehard Leeds United fan coordinated a mesmerising tribute to the Whites in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Andrew Bowden organised the mindblowing event in honour of Leeds' return to Premier League football after a 16-year exile.

The footage above shows how the massive waterfalls - which are 3,500 miles away near Toronto, Canada - were lit up after dark yesterday (Monday, August 24).

First, the giant Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side of the waterfall is shown shrouded in the white, blue and yellow of Leeds United, before the camera then pans round to a similar tribute on the American side.

Andrew, 51, said: "I’m a Leeds lad out in Qatar and my colleague is a Canadian who lives out in Niagara.

"What started off as a light-hearted conversation after winning promotion finally turned into reality last night - the Niagara Falls tribute to the Leeds United Championship winning team.

"I arranged with my colleague to work with the mayor of Niagara Falls to illuminate the falls in Leeds United colours to celebrate promotion.

"The aim was to show the world that we are back, whilst helping to boost their tourism.

"Judging by the comments, I think that we succeeded on both fronts!"

It's not the only bizarre tribute to the title-winning side in recent weeks though.

Trinity Leeds have renamed a street near the shopping centre Marcelo Bielsa Way in honour of the enigmatic Argentinian boss, while a special Leeds United beer celebrating Premier League promotion went on sale at the start of August.
