A Leeds United fan has superbly hit back at Chris Sutton's questions over Marcelo Bielsa's future at the club.
Despite a positive first season back in the Premier League, the Whites are yet to announce a new contract for Bielsa, whose preference to work under one-year deals means the club are consistently linked with contingency plans should the Argentine opt to leave at short notice.
Massimiliano Allegri is the latest manager to have been linked with Elland Road amid talk of Bielsa's future and, speaking on BBC Radio Five Live's 6-0-6, Sutton questioned a Leeds fan of how certain they were that the 65-year-old would sign a new deal at the club.
He said: "Are you sure Bielsa is going to be there next season - 100 per cent, are you?
"There is a lot of talk about this in fairness, isn’t there? He has never stayed anywhere else as long, though."
The Whites fan responded to Sutton by arguing that Bielsa has already proved his point of staying with Leeds in the past when his contract has come to an end, arguing there is no need to be fearful over whether the manager will leave or not as he stays true to his word.
He said: "I watch every press conference of Bielsa’s and the most heart-warming one is the one where he said he plans every day like he’s going to be here for the rest of his life.
"And I think what people need to realise is that he prefers to have a one-year contract because of his age – he has proved his point of staying with Leeds.
"He said he loves Yorkshire. He loves the culture and the people."
