Leeds United eyeing Said Benrahma transfer as they ponder £25million swoop

Leeds United are targeting in-demand Brentford forward Said Benrahma.

Newly-promoted Leeds are ready to move for the £25m-rated forward who many see as the best player outside of the Premier League.

West Ham and Aston Villa are also interested and watching developments closely with Brentford fully expecting interest in their squad after missing out on promotion to the top flight.

Leeds rate Benrahma highly and are pushing hard as they look to bolster Marcelo Bielsa’s squad for next season.

Benrahma, 24, has not hidden his desire to play in the top flight but it was ideally going to be with Brentford and now could move this summer.

Brentford snubbed several offers and interest in January to make a push for promotion but, having taken that gamble, they could now lose the likes of Benrahma and Ollie Watkins who is a target for Crystal Palace.

Watkins, 24, can leave for £18m in a buyout clause which is now active following the club missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

Palace were keen on Watkins last season and were close to a £10m deal but are likely to go back for the striker who scored 25 goals in the Championship.
