Leeds United evening headlines as Tuanzebe is tipped for transfer and Derby's stance on Roberts

Here are your Leeds United headlines for the evening of Wednesday, September 2.

Leeds would be 'over the moon' with signing of Manchester United youngster

Alan Hutton claims Leeds United would be "over the moon" with the signing of his former Aston Villa teammate Axel Tuanzebe were they to lure the defender from Manchester United this summer.

The Elland Road club have been busy in the transfer market, with Whites’ transfer record broken with the signing of Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia, and it has been reported a centre back could be next on the shopping list.

As per The Athletic’s Phil Hay, Tuenzuebe’s name has been put forward as a target.

The ultimate lowdown on Rodrigo

"For one so young, he had such an old head on his shoulders," Hutton told Football Insider of his former Villa teammate. “He was strong, he was very, very quick, he was good with the ball - he was everything that you want in a top centre-half and he was willing to learn and work.

"He was constantly in the gym, he did everything right, he had a great mentality. I think if Leeds can get him, they’d be over the moon with that."

Rodrigo is preparing himself for Marcelo Bielsa’s trademark training sessions

New Leeds United striker Rodrigo has requested videos of Marcelo Bielsa’s famously gruelling training sessions in order to prepare himself for life under the Argentine at Elland Road.

The Spanish striker became the most expensive signing in Leeds’ history in making the £27million move from Valencia last month and will report to his new club for pre-season after the international break.

Rodrigo is already getting ready for what will await him at Thorp Arch.

"I have already asked for videos of Bielsa's training sessions, of his way of working," Rodrigo told Spanish radio station Onda Cero. "I am very curious to know what he is like, I have asked colleagues who have had him and I am excited to work with him.

He continued: "When Leeds came up, it was really attractive to me. To play in the Premier League, to work with a great coach like Bielsa."

Derby County transfer stance on Leeds United forward

Derby County will not pursue a deal for Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts despite the Rams’ reported interest in the 21-year-old.

The Times recently reported that Derby were tracking Roberts, but DerbyshireLive claims the Rams have no plans to make a move for the forward and will instead focus on adding a new winger to their squad.

Roberts was an important figure for Leeds United last season, scoring four times as the Whites won promotion back to the Premier League after 16 years and clinched the Championship title.
