Here are the Leeds United evening headlines for Wednesday, June 10.
Augustin suffers injury setback in training
On-loan striker Jean-Kevin Augustin is being assessed after injuring himself in training for Leeds.
It is feared that it is a repeat of a previous hamstring problem the RB Leipzig forward suffered, but the extent of the injury is yet to be confirmed.
Augustin was absent from Leeds’ three matches before the coronavirus pandemic stopped football with the same hamstring issue.
The 22-year-old is yet to start a match for Marcelo Bielsa’s side since arriving on loan in January.
Leeds handed boost in Yohou chase
Reported Leeds target Samuel Yohou is now a free agent after leaving French club Paris FC earlier this week.
The Parisians announced earlier this week that they had released a host of players, including Leeds target Yohou.
French outlet Le10 Sport reported last month that Leeds have been “looking carefully” throughout this season at the defender.
However, Coventry City and Crotone are also interested in the French centre-back, according to the report.
Forshaw “convinced” Leeds will be promoted
Leeds midfielder Adam Forshaw is “convinced” his side will be promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.
The Whites are currently top of the Championship and are seven points ahead of third-place Fulham.
Asked about the possibility of the Championship season being cancelled, Forshaw said to the Leeds That podcast : “Don’t get me wrong, if they were going to hand us it, we wouldn’t complain.
“But if there was a certain way of doing it then you want to prove that you’ve done it over a 46-game season, so the lads have fully got their heads around it, they’re excited and they’re determined.
“I’m convinced (Leeds will be promoted). I’m not just saying that, or being biased because we’re all Leeds. There will be nobody as driven as us.”
