Leeds United evening headlines as Rodrigo De Paul's agent speaks out, new signing set to start

Good evening, Leeds fans. Here are your evening headlines for Tuesday, September 15.

De Paul's agent 'evaluating options'

The agent of Leeds United target Rodrigo De Paul says he is evaluating different options amid growing interest in the Argentine star.

The Whites have been heavily linked with a move for the Udinese playmaker for some time, but have yet to match the Serie A club's €40million (£36.7m) valuation.

De Paul hinted he is keen on a move to Elland Road in a now-deleted Twitter post, but the player's agent, Leandro Pereiro, suggested to Inside Futbol there are other interested clubs.

“We are evaluating some options," he admitted.

One of those is reportedly Roma, and when asked about the Giallorossi's interest, Pereiro said: “We have to see if they can release a midfielder.”

Rodrigo set for first Leeds start

Leeds' record signing Rodrigo Moreno could be handed his first start for the club tomorrow evening.

The Whites take on Hull City in the Carabao Cup second round and will look to bounce back to winning ways after the opening day Premier League defeat to Liverpool.

A clumsy challenge in that game from Rodrigo gifted Liverpool the opportunity to score a late winner from the penalty spot, which was duly taken by Mohamed Salah, but that won’t have hindered his chances of featuring in the cup.

The Spaniard could be included alongside a number of players who did not start at the weekend, such as captain Liam Cooper, who missed out due to a muscle injury picked up on international duty.

Crowe honoured to tell Leeds' promotion story

Amazon Prime documentary series ‘Take Us Home: Leeds United’ which detailed the trials and tribulations of the Whites' 2018/19 push for promotion, returns later this month for a second series.

Narrated by Hollywood actor Russell Crowe, the second instalment of the behind-the-scenes look at Leeds will be available to stream from Thursday, September 17, with two brand-new episodes.

Crowe said of his role as narrator: “To be able to help tell the incredible story of the past two seasons through ‘Take Us Home’ has been a real honour.”

"After years of pain, seeing the white army marching on together back to the Premier League where they should be has given me nothing but pleasure,” the New Zealand-born Leeds supporter added.

The series will make for much better viewing for Leeds United fans this time around as it chronicles the club’s return to the top flight for the first time in 16 years.
