Here are your Leeds United evening headlines for Wednesday August 26.
Hutton urges Kent to make 'massive choice'
Former Rangers star Alan Hutton has said that Ryan Kent has a big choice to make if the club accept a bid from Leeds United for him.
Hutton - still Rangers' record-holder for highest transfer fee commanded - says that Rangers will sell if the price is right, making it tricky for Kent to refuse to leave.
“The same thing happened to me, I turned down Tottenham multiple times, I didn’t want to go, I told the manager I didn’t want to go and I didn’t," Hutton told Football Insider.
“I remember it like it was yesterday. I turned them down multiple times, I was Rangers through and through and I never wanted to leave but when Rangers come and say: ‘Look, we’ve accepted this bid,’ it is what it is. It’s a massive choice he’s got to make.”
Orta confirms imminent Rodrigo deal
Director of football Victor Orta has confirmed that Leeds are close to completing a club-record deal for Valencia striker Rodrigo.
Orta travelled to Spain to hold talks in person with the club about signing the 29-year-old - and the Spanish club confirmed on Tuesday they had reached an agreement for a fee of around £30million.
Rodrigo has since undergone a medical.
"I hope that everything goes well from now and that we finish all the paperwork, but for us [it] is a strategic signing that show what we want to be: a humble club that just got promotion, but that want to be a stable Premier League club, that is very important for us," Orta said to the media.
Leeds' efforts for Wilson rejected
Liverpool will not allow winger Harry Wilson to leave on loan - ending Leeds's hopes of landing him.
The Wales international spent last season on loan at AFC Bournemouth - but the new Premier League champions aren't keen on allowing him to continue his temporary stints elsewhere.
If another club wants him, they will have to put in a bid to sign him permanently.
And it's unlikely that Leeds would be up for that bearing in mind their imminent outlay for Rodrigo.
