Leeds ready to ‘break transfer record’ for Brentford star - reports
Leeds are reportedly ready to break the club’s transfer record fee to sign Said Benrahma from Brentford this summer.
The Bees failed to gain promotion to the Premier League after a 2-1 defeat to Fulham in the play-off final and it is expected that several of their stars will seek pastures new.
According to the Daily Mirror, Leeds are ready to bid £25million to land the winger’s signature after admiring Benrahma for a long period of time.
The Whites’ owner, Andrea Radrizzani, has implied that the club will look to break their transfer record fee to compete in the top flight of English football and it could require that to sign the Algerian winger.
Youngster’s loan move to Spain confirmed
Promising Leeds youngster Kun Temenuzhkov has sealed a loan move to Spanish side Real Union.
The club recently announced that the striker has returned to Spain for another loan spell after signing from Barcelona in 2017.
It is hoped that a season-long loan deal will give Temenuzhkov the time needed to further his development in senior football.
At the age of 20, he will be hoping to build on the two substitute appearances he had last season during a loan spell at FC La Nucia who also play in the Spanish second tier.
Leeds discover the cost of signing Watkins
Several Premier League clubs including Leeds will be entering the race to sign Ollie Watkins after a clause in the striker’s contract was activated following Tuesday’s play-off final defeat.
BBC Sport report that the striker’s release clause stands at £18million with a number of Premier League clubs reportedly interested.
The 24-year-old scored 25 goals in the Championship last season as Brentford reached the play-off final and many Leeds supporters have urged the club to sign him.
Marcelo Bielsa will be looking to strengthen up front with just Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts currently at his disposal and Watkins could be the perfect fit.
