Leeds United evening headlines as Man United boss addresses Dean Henderson transfer link

Here are the Leeds United evening headlines for Tuesday, November 24.

Manchester United's stance on Dean Henderson revealed

Leeds have been linked with a loan move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

The former Sheffield United stopper is said to be keen to explore a loan deal i n January in a bid to get more regular first-team action.

Leeds are said to be one of the interested parties alongside Brighton & Hove Albion and Championship outfit Bournemouth.

Speaking ahead of United's Champions League game against Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said : "Dean wants to stay at Manchester United and play for Manchester United."

Solskjaer was also asked about the fact that Henderson could play just once before the transfer window opened, against Everton in the Carabao Cup.

"I can't see the logic in him playing only one game before Christmas," the manager replied. "Do you know how many games we've got?

"So I disagree completely that Tuesday could be make or break for Dean. He has come back in, he is training really well, he is maturing.

"He is training with, for me, one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He has got potential to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

"It's a great competition between them, so I don't buy that argument that it is a make or break for him."

Ex-Everton star fears key Toffees weakness could play straight into Leeds’ hands

Former Everton defender Michael Ball believes Leeds’ counter-attacking threat could cause the Blues problems on Saturday.

The Toffees recorded a win against Fulham at the weekend that saw them move back into the top six of the Premier League.

"The way Leeds play, I've been very impressed with them," he told the Liverpool Echo . "They're exciting to watch every time they've played this season.

"It's going to be a difficult game for us and we've got to be switched on, because they've got the energy to go for 90 minutes.

"Against Arsenal they created enough chances to win that game so we've got to be able to find a solution to stop them counterattacking, which hasn't been the best side of our game.

"We've been too nice at times and let teams break us down far too easily, so we've got to be very compact and make sure there are no spaces in the centre.”

Belgian club planning to trigger purchase option

Zulte Waregem are expected to trigger the purchase option in Lauren De Bock’s loan deal and sign him next year, according to reports.

De Bock, 28, is currently on loan at the Belgian club after falling down the pecking order at Elland Road.

Now, Football Insider are reporting that De Bock does not expect to return to Leeds as Marcelo Bielsa no longer considers him good enough to compete at the club.
