Here are the Leeds evening headlines for Thursday, September 24.
Leeds confirm Llorente signing
Leeds have confirmed the £18m signing of Diego Llorente from Real Sociedad .
The centre-back joins the club on a four-year deal and will compete with the likes of Robin Koch and Liam Cooper in defence.
Llorente, who passed a medical in Madrid yesterday, will boost Leeds’ numbers at the back following the departures of Ben White and Gaetano Berardi.
The 27-year-old was at Real Sociedad for three years after leaving Spanish champions Real Madrid in 2017.
He has five Spain caps to his name and spent time on loan with La Liga clubs Malaga and Rayo Vallecano before joining Real Sociedad.
Llorente will wear the number 14 shirt at Elland Road.
Leeds target hints at move on social media
Rodrigo De Paul has hinted at a potential transfer on social media amid links with Leeds .
The Udinese midfielder has been at the centre of speculation over a move to Elland Road throughout the summer.
But he remains in Italy as the close of the transfer window approaches.
The 26-year-old is training with Udinese ahead of their opening Serie A game, and on Wednesday took to Instagram to update fans.
“Continuiamo a Spingere!” he wrote in the caption , which translates to “we keep pushing”.
De Paul might have just been referring to his efforts in training, but some Leeds fans took the post as a cryptic message relating to a transfer.
Leeds have bid accepted for Motherwell defender
Leeds are one of three clubs to have had a bit accepted for Motherwell’s Sam Campbell, according to PA Media.
Liverpool and Brighton are also in for the 16-year-old, who is highly regarded in Scotland.
It remains to be seen where the youngster will end up, although Liverpool might expect to be favourites.
Campbell will have a less difficult route to the first team should he choose one of Leeds or Brighton, though.
