Leeds United evening headlines as Gelhardt will complete £900k transfer and Radrizzani's vision

Here are the Leeds United evening headlines on Saturday August 8.

Whites keen on Liverpool winger

Leeds have entered the race to sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson on loan, according to a report in the Northern Echo .

Wilson spent the season on loan at Bournemouth during the last campaign, and was one of the Cherries’ bright sparks after being relegated to the Championship.

Liverpool are unwilling to let the Welshman leave on a permanent deal, but could send him on loan again, with Leeds now entering the race with Newcastle United for the Wales man.

However, the Whites are willing to make a £15million bid to sign the 23-year-old on a permanent deal to try and test the Reds’ resolve.

Radrizzani sets Leeds vision

Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has outlined his vision for the club following their long-awaited promotion back to the Premier League.

After 16 years of trying, the Whites are now back in the top-flight and the Italian has spoken about what is possible with the Elland Road-based club.

Radrizzani said : “I have a clear vision. I need first to secure the team in the Premier League for the next three years, to stay there. If we are able to stay for three years, because the first two will be the most difficult as shown by statistics, most of the clubs can go back in the first few years.

Gelhardt set to sign for Leeds

Wigan Athletic striker Joe Gelhardt is expected to sign for Leeds “in the coming days”, according to the Daily Star.

Gelhardt was in impressive form for the Latics last season and has attracted the attention of the Premier League new boys.

Leeds have now won the race for the 18-year-old, according to the report, with Wigan set to receive a fee of around £900,000 for the forward.

Gelhardt made 19 appearances for the Latics last season, scoring one goal, and is set to complete the move to Elland Road very soon.
