Former Premier League scout has transfer window warning for Leeds United
A former Premier League scout has issued a warning over how this summer’s transfer window will be more challenging for clubs like Leeds United.
David Webb, who has experience of working for Bournemouth, Huddersfield Town and Tottenham Hotspur, believes the coronavirus pandemic will affect the spending power of those below the Premier League’s top six.
“I think it will have an impact definitely with a number of clubs, probably from the bottom half of the Premier League and going all the way down,” he told talkSPORT.
“The conversations I’ve had with colleagues from other clubs, the feeling is that it’s a time for reassessment.
"It’s hit a lot of clubs financially as well, as no one ever envisaged this happening.”
Adam Forshaw provides update on long-standing hip injury
Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw will miss the rest of the season through, but has provided an encouraging update over how long he will be on the sidelines for.
Forshaw has missed much of the 2019/20 campaign with a long-standing hip injury and has hasn’t featured for the Elland Road side since a 1-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic back on September 28.
While Forshaw won’t be ready to return before the end of this season, he is positive of a return to action soon. “Brilliant, really well,” he told LUTV when asked how his rehab was progressing.
"I'm probably two, three weeks away from being in full training with the team.
"Unfortunately I'm going to miss the end of the season but in the grand scheme of things, I'll be ready to go with the team for the first day of pre-season if everything goes well.”
Elland Road stand could be renamed after Jack Charlton
Leeds United are planning a permanent tribute to Jack Charlton, with the club considering renaming a stand at Elland Road after the legendary figure.

Charlton passed away at the age of 85 last week, prompting an outpouring of emotion from many within English and Irish football.
The former defender spent his entire 21-year playing career at Leeds United and now The Times reports that the English Championship club are planning a memorial to Charlton following his passing.
It is claimed Leeds could rename a stand at Elland Road after Charlton, with the club reportedly in talks with his family about any potential tributes.
