Leeds United evening headlines as former target Michael Cuisance tipped for permanent move

Here are your Leeds United headlines for the evening of Friday, November 6.

Marseille manager confident of permanent deal for former Leeds target

Andre Villas-Boas is hopeful that Marseille can get Michael Cuisance signed to a permanent deal at the Stade Velodrome (via German outlet ).

The 21-year-old Frenchman has made a good start to life at the Stade Velodrome and evidently impressed the former Tottenham and Chelsea coach.

He’s currently on loan from Bayern Munich after his move to Leeds in the summer broke down.

He arrived at the club for a medical, but Leeds are said to have opted against signing him due to concerns.

“I’m very happy with Cuisance,” Villas-Boas said.

“He will likely play in Strasbourg (this weekend) and I hope that at the end of his loan we can activate his option to buy.”

United ‘would love to have’ Marcelo Bielsa

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes that Manchester United would be improved by appointing Marcelo Bielsa as manager.

There are no suggestions that the club hierarchy at Old Trafford are considering a move for the 65-year-old Leeds coach, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under increasingly under pressure after leading them to a fourth defeat of the season so far at Istanbul Basaksehir in midweek.

Reports have emerged (via The MEN) that Manchester United have approached former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, famously a protege of Bielsa’s.

"I'm sure that as we speak now, they've been sounding out whether this is the job for him and is he ready to come back to football but he'd be a big concern," he told talkSPORT.

"He will want to know where the club is going. There will be other managers who you would love to have but you probably won't be able to get.

"Bielsa at Leeds United, he's doing a fantastic job. Imagine, his teams always work really hard. Brendan Rodgers, I don't think he would leave Leicester, he's got the backing there and if he needs players if he wants to sign big players, he can.

Here’s what he said in full.

Referee appointed for Crystal Palace clash

Chris Kavanagh will officiate United's trip to Crystal Palace tomorrow afternoon.

That’s a good omen for Bielsa’s men. The referee is taking charge of a Leeds match for the first time this season, but Leeds have only previously lost just one match that the 35-year-old referee has taken charge of.

Dan Cook and Sian Massey-Ellis have been appointed as the assistant referees, while David Coote will serve as the fourth official.

Mike Dean, who has refereed more Premier League games than anybody else, will take charge of VAR, with Ian Hussin as his assistant.

Here’s all the details in full.
