Leeds United launch maroon third kit which pays homage to European triumph
Leeds United have released their third kit for the 2020/21 season, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side set to be kitted out in maroon for some away games.
The new kit is a nod to the club’s Fairs Cup triumph of 1971, when Leeds United wore a red kit in the final against Juventus, proving the inspiration for the latest design from Adidas.
Fans will be able to order the new third kit online from 8am on Thursday October 1st and will also be available from Leeds United stores from 8am on Monday October 5th.
Fans heap praise on Leeds United chief as transfer edges closer
Leeds United supporters have hailed director of football Victor Orta as the club edges closer to completing a deal to sign Michael Cuisance from Bayern Munich.
The Whites have been looking to add a midfielder to their squad in recent weeks, with Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul targeted before Cuisance was identified. The Frenchman will cost the club around £20 million after a fee was agreed with Bayern Munich.
Cuisance has reportedly already completed his medical ahead of a move to Elland Road, with the Frenchman set to give Marcelo Bielsa another option in the centre of the pitch.
Fans have heaped praise on Orta for getting another impressive deal over the line, with supporters also highlighting the signings of Rodrigo Moreno, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente this summer.
Former Leeds United star opens on club’s bid for Norwich City attacker
Danny Mills has questioned whether Leeds United need Todd Cantwell following reports the club has tabled an offer for the Norwich City attacker.
According to Football Insider, Leeds United lodged a bid of £15 million for Cantwell after his impressive campaign in the Premier League last season, but Mills isn’t convinced Marcelo Bielsa needs the 22-year-old.
“He has fabulous ability but if you are Leeds or Bielsa I would be thinking, ‘Do I need him?’ Does he really add to what Leeds have already got in those positions right now? They have Mateusz Klich, Rodrigo, Costa, Harrison and others,” Mills told Football Insider.
“It would make the midfield quite crowded and I think the money would be better off spent in other areas.”
