Here are the latest Leeds evening headlines for Friday, October 2.
Andrea Radrizzani breaks his silence on Leeds United’s Rodrigo De Paul interest
Andrea Radrizzani has spoken publicly about Leeds United’s pursuit of Rodrigo De Paul.
The Udinese midfielder has been a target for Leeds this summer although the Whites have been so far unable to agree a fee for the player.
Reports from Italy suggested Leeds were keen to land the 26-year-old, with the player himself fuelling the speculation via social media.
Now Radrizzani has spoken publicly about the situation and confirmed that the midfielder will not be moving to Elland Road.
“We thought about it, but I don’t think anyone will sign him,” he told Italian radio station Radio 24.
The news comes after Michael Cuisance’s move from Bayern Munich to Leeds collapsed earlier this week.
Pep discusses his mentor Bielsa ahead of meeting with Leeds
Pep Guardiola has revealed Marcelo Bielsa is the person in football he admires the most.
The Manchester City boss has made no secret of his admiration for Bielsa and sought the Argentine out for advice when he began work as a coach.
Speaking ahead of their meeting this weekend, Guardiola explained why he thinks so highly of the Leeds United boss.
"Cruyff was the most influential (to me) because I was four years with him and when I started as a manager he was an incredible help, but Marcelo, he is the person in world football I admire the most," Guardiola told the press ahead of the match this weekend.
"My theory is the manager is not about the titles because I feel far away from his knowledge. My teams won more titles than his, but in terms of knowledge of the game, I am a way from him. It is a good present, a good gift to have him in the Premier League.
"They do exactly what they have to do. They are a team, fight for each other, defend a lot around the box. They have good build-up. At the right moment, they arrive with a lot of players. I played three times against Marcelo at Bilbao, and every game was so difficult."
Leeds are preparing a move for Demari Gray
Leeds United are preparing a move for Leicester City winger Demarai Gray, according to reports.
Gray, 24, joined the Foxes from Birmingham City in 2016 but has fallen out of favour under Brendan Rodgers of late.
The winger is in the final year of his Leicester City contract, and The Telegraph are reporting that Leeds United are in pole position for the winger and are “ready to step up their pursuit”.
