Mateusz Klich lifts the lid on Leeds United’s dressing room conversations ahead of Stoke clash
Mateusz Klich has revealed Leeds United are eager to secure promotion as quickly as possible.
Klich, 30, was in fine form against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, providing the third goal as the Whites ran out 3-1 winners at Ewood Park.
The result moved Marcelo Bielsa’s side an inch closer to a top-flight return, with Klich revealing the team are desperate to secure promotion as soon as possible.
“Everyone in the dressing room just wants to play games,” conceded Klich. “We want to finish the season as soon as possible.
“That’s why we just can’t wait. If it’s a Thursday, Wednesday, Tuesday, Saturday, whenever. We just want to focus on the game.
Next up for the club is Stoke City, and Klich knows the relegation-threatened Potters will pose a difficult test.
“As we know, Stoke need to win as well. I think they’re going to try and play,” added the midfielder. “They’ve got good players, and they can play good football.
“Obviously results are not great from them at the moment, although today they won 4-0 [against Barnsley]. They want to stay in the league, so they’re going to fight, it will be a tough game.
“They’ve got good players. There’s no easy games in this league, so this is going to be another battle.”
