Good evening, Leeds fans. Here are your evening headlines for Thursday, August 13.
Leeds sign England youth international
Leeds have been busy in the transfer market this summer, and the Whites have completed their sixth signing with the arrival of Cody Drameh from Fulham for an undisclosed fee.
The 18-year-old England youth international has signed a four-year deal and is the third teenager to arrive at Elland Road ahead of the 2020/21 campaign after Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Allen were brought in.
Drameh did not make a senior appearance for Fulham but was a regular in the Under-23s last season and is another young talent the Whites have added as they look to roll the dice and see what long-term potential they can uncover.
Pre-season training gets underway
Just 23 days after they beat Charlton Athletic to secure the Championship title, Leeds United have returned to pre-season training to prepare for the upcoming Premier League campaign.
The team wore their new Adidas training kit, which replaced the Kappa strips from last season, while Marcelo Bielsa remains in the area having been spotted in Wetherby earlier in the week.
His future is still somewhat uncertain, although Leeds Live understands that there will be no issues regarding discussions over a new contract.
Players were not afforded much of a break between last season and preparations for the new campaign and were only able to head abroad for a short period of time.
Leeds urged to sign Benrahma
After Brentford lost in the Championship play-off final to Fulham earlier this month, many of their star players became tantalising prospects for several Premier League teams, including Leeds.
And, according to former striker Noel Whelan, the Whites should take a long look at attacking midfielder Said Benrahma instead of Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson.
"If you are talking about number tens I would much rather see a Benrahma,” he told Football Insider
“You have got to put your eggs in one basket and if Benrahma is the main target they have got to go all out to make that one happen.
“I would pick Benrahma over Wilson, absolutely. He is a better fit for Leeds United. We need to make sure that we get the right quality of players to make a difference in the Premier League.”
