Leeds United evening headlines as Angus Kinnear reportedly watches Dan James in Man Utd fixture

Good evening, Leeds fans. Here are your evening headlines for Tuesday, September 29.

Bayern give Leeds permission to speak to Cuisance

Leeds United are edging closer to signing Michael Cuisance from Bayern Munich, with the German champions granting permission for the Whites to speak to the French midfielder.

According to widespread reports, Leeds have agreed a deal worth £18 million for Cuisance, who is keen to make the move to Elland Road as he searches for regular first-team football.

Marcelo Bielsa wants another midfielder to be signed before the transfer window closes on October 5, with Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul also a target.

However, Cuisance is Leeds' first-choice target to fill the position having already signed Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia, Robin Koch from Freiburg, and Diego Llorente from Real Sociedad.

Kinnear highlights difference between Bielsa and Mourinho

Leeds United chief executive Angus Kinnear believes Amazon’s 'All Or Nothing: Tottenham’ documentary series highlighted the difference between Bielsa and Jose Mourinho.

The Whites were also the subject of a documentary series in ‘Take Us Home: Leeds United,’ but Kinnear was quick to point out how Mourinho was happy to make himself the star of the show in a way Bielsa was never comfortable with.

“It was very clear we couldn’t do anything which would impinge on what he saw as the team’s technical preparation and we didn’t do that,” Kinnear told the Tifo Football Podcast.

“It’s a very different feel from the Spurs documentary where Mourinho has clearly been made the star and it’s all about him. I don’t think we’d ever get Marcelo to do that in any way, but the reaction he had with the players at the end, I deal with him every day, that was as surprising to me as it was to the viewers.

"That’s why it captures it well because if you had asked me before, I wouldn’t have thought he’d even turn up for the celebration at the ground.”

Leeds continue to monitor James

Daniel James could be the subject of a late offer from Leeds as Manchester United continue their search for a new winger.

The Welsh international was on the brink of signing the Whites in January 2019 from Swansea City only for the move to collapse at the eleventh hour after he had undergone a medical.

James made the switch from Swansea to Manchester United last summer, but has become something of a peripheral figure following the emergence of Mason Greenwood and could fall further down the pecking order if Jadon Sancho arrives at Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund.

MEN Sport understands Leeds chief Angus Kinnear attended Manchester United’s Carabao Cup tie against Luton Town, where James was an unused substitute.
